As we saw at the March on America, or Saturday with the UCLA speech, or Thursday with the American flag on Cinco de Mayo, or with weeks of violent protests against Arizona's new anti-illegal immigration law, these people simply can't hide their true feelings about the United States. They believe America is an inherently racist country controlled by evil White people like Sheriff Joe Arapio. They also feel a sense of entitlement about the American Southwest which they claim was unfairly stolen in the Mexican War.

In related news, a California teacher recently told a 13 year old student not to draw a picture of an American flag because it was "offensive." The same teacher praised a similar picture of Barack Obama. On Thursday, I reported on a story about American students who were not allowed to wear Old Glory t-shirts on Cinco de Mayo, also because it was deemed "offensive." This walk out protest by Hispanic students is a follow up from the same school.

The cult of multiculturalism is the common thread that runs through all of these stories. As a nation, it is increasingly clear that America is ripping apart at the seams. Our liberal elites believe in promoting divisiveness as a cure for their pathologization of America. If this doesn't change soon, it portends a dark future I would rather not contemplate.

Yesterday, I attended the so-called "March for America" in Washington, DC with two fellow YWC members. We wanted to see the constituency for "comprehensive immigration reform" ourselves. The MSM has already leapt into action to put a pro-amnesty spin on the rally. We are told "a few demonstrators waved flags from other countries." That's not what I saw.

YWC shot about 200 photos of the rally and an hour of footage with two video cameras. I've uploaded all our photos to Flickr here, here, and here. Some of the video footage is below, along with a slideshow with some of the images. We caught all kinds of stuff on tape that the MSM is not reporting.

Impressions:

1.) The crowd that gathered on the National Mall was overwhelmingly Latino. I would estimate that 85% to 90% of the demonstrators were immigrants, illegal aliens, or some type of Hispanic-American. In particular, El Salvador was drastically overrepresented. There also seemed to be more Dominicans and Columbians in attendance than Mexicans.

2.) At least half of the demonstrators were chattering among themselves in Spanish and other foreign languages. The chants from the crowd kept slipping back into Spanish over and over again. We got this on tape.

3.) The crowd that gathered on the National Mall WAS NOT representative of America. I felt highly conspicuous and out of place as a White Southern male from Alabama. I got lots of dirty looks. I kept sarcastically asking my YWC colleagues: where are the natives? It is clear that "comprehensive immigration reform" is supported by a narrow constituency (i.e., immigrants and their families) that will directly benefit from the legislation and opposed by the American Majority who will be forced to pay the costs.

4.) Most of the demonstrators were smart enough to wave the American flag, but the whole scene looked staged on closer inspection. This wasn't a spontatneous outburst of American patriotism like you see at the Tea Parties. Rather, it was tens of thousands of people waving small American flags (which the organizers provided them with) ... because they want something in return, namely, American citizenship and access to taxpayer subsidized public services. It was a PR stunt.

5.) The most passionate demonstrators were the ethnic chauvinists waving their huge foreign flags. There were A LOT of these people on the National Mall. There were so many of them in attendance that I quit snapping photos of foreign flags after 100th or so shot to prove my point.

6.) Some Latino demonstraters had bigoted, anti- European signs. There were signs at the rally which claimed that North America is a "Bronze Continent" that belongs to Indians and Latinos. There were others which claimed that Europeans were illegal immigrants. mECha and La Raza were there.

7.) Communists were at the "March for America" waving huge Red flags with the hammer and sickle and yellow star. These flags were on prominent display (stood out from the crowd) and we shot several photos of them.

8.) We encountered three or four Socialist groups working the crowd. One guy tried to SELL US a copy of The Socialist Action. Apparently, socialists are not adverse to the profit motive! The "Partido Socialista De Los Trabatadores" had a booth in front of the Smithsonian. Another socialist group had a sign that called the Democratic and Republican parties "two parties of racism, imperialism, and anti-worker attacks." Another group of socialists was selling The Militant in English and Spanish." "International Socialists for Social Equality" of the "World Socialist Web Site" had a booth where they were selling books about Leon Trotsky.

9.) Black power groups were at the rally. We saw attendees wearing black power shirts and selling copies of Malcolm X, Black Liberation, and the Road to Workers Power in English and Spanish.

10.) Che Guevera fans were out in force. When we got off the Metro, literally the first guy who approached us was a crazy leftist from LaRouche PAC. For those unfamilar with Lyndon LaRouche, his group believes that America is controlled by the Queen of England who invented AIDS to exterminate black people.

11.) Puerto Rican nationalists were at the rally.

12.) A crowd of filthy anarchists from SDS DC (some without t-shirts) marched down the street with various signs including "Smash the State," "Smash Capitalism," and "Funk the Borders." Apparently, this group attacked a military recruiter with a paint bomb the day before.

13.) As we were leaving, we noticed Latino demonstrators walking over a discarded American flag on the sidewalk. We shot some video of those patriotic Americans which we will share on YouTube.

14.) A group of mimes threatened violence against Roy Beck of Numbers USA and the police escorted him off the National Mall. We also saw the mimes at the rally. Maybe Beck's problem was the security. Leftists kooks were everywhere.

15.) The highlight of the demonstration was seeing a furious American and his wife enter the demonstration after touring the Smithsonian Natural History Museum. I saw him wave his hand and yell at the crowd, "if these people would all get jobs, there wouldn't be a problem."

Final Thoughts:

The tens of thousands of Latinos who demonstrated on the National Mall showed up there because they expect to personally benefit from "comprehensive immigration reform." I doubt a hundred of them would have turned out simply to express pride in their adopted country.

An undercurrent of leftist radicalism and ethnic chauvinism simmered underneath the so-called "March for America." It left me wondering which direction America will take after these people no longer have to put on faux displays of patriotism for access to the welfare state.

The Nation is reporting that America has unwittingly slipped into a new Jim Crow system. Barack Obama, the President of the United States, is black. Eric Holder, U.S. Attorney General, is black. David Patterson and Duvall Patrick (both black) are the Governors of New York and Massachusetts respectively. If Black America was an independent country, it would be the ninth wealthiest nation on Earth. In spite of all this progress, the crazy leftists at The Nation would have us believe that African-Americans are worse off in 2010 than they were in 1850 under slavery!

Segregation and anti-miscegenation laws are illegal in every state. Black voting rights are protected by federal and state civil rights legislation. "Racism" is proscribed as a moral offense worse than committing many violent crimes; "racist" has a nastier ring than "thief." Blacks are overrepresented on cable television and lionized by Hollywood. America's universities compete with each other to artificially inflate "diversity" on college campuses. Oprah Winfrey has the distinction of becoming the world's first black billionaire. So what is the basis of this outrageous libel on the United States?

According toThe Nation, the proof of America's hideous "racial caste system" is the fact that blacks are incarcerated at disproportionate rates in our prisons. This is absurd. No one forces blacks (or anyone else) to rob, rape, murder, assault others, or sell drugs. The majority of blacks are law abiding citizens. When blacks choose to break the law, they are arrested and punished for criminal activity (often by black police officers, judges, and jurors), not because of their skin color.

America is a free country where anyone regardless of race has ample opportunity to succeed in life. Look at Tiger Woods, P. Diddy, Beyonce, or Mark Ingram who recently won the Heisman Trophy. It is a tragedy that so many of our fellow black citizens fall through the cracks and wind up behind bars or growing up in broken homes. This can be attributed to personal failings though, not the American system.

The Nation hates America. The ideology of multiculturalism is based on the axiom that America is intrinsically evil and must perpetually atone for its past racial sins. No amount of evidence from reality is sufficient to convince the radical left otherwise. The only proper response to these insane conspiracy theories is to mock them and move on.

Our scene: It is May 1968 at the height of the student rebellion at Columbia. In Hamilton Hall, the research papers of Orest Ranum, an associate professor of history, are burned. For decades, Students for a Democratic Society (a radical Marxist student activist group) denied responsibility for the arson. The fire was the climax of a month of protests at Columbia that provoked the largest police bust ever on a college campus.

Now the truth comes out: Mark Rudd, the Chairman of SDS, has acknowledged that one of his radical leftist followers set the fire. The rebellion at Columbia launched SDS as the spearhead of the New Left. The Weather Underground hatched out of this millieu. Other notables went on to fame in mainstream Democratic politics.

Leftists can get away with anything in America because they control the media and set the ground rules of mainstream political discourse. In his 2008 campaign, John McCain attempted to link Barack Obama with Bill Ayers. The charge fell flat.

This is why we don’t take left wing attacks on us seriously.  Leftists and student radicals aren’t just “linked” to violent thugs – they are violent thugs, and that is all they are.  As the reaction to YWC by the criminals at SDS shows, nothing has changed. 

Avatar, the latest sci-fi adventure by world-famous director James Cameron, has achieved the ninth-largest opening weekend gross of all time. At the current gross sum of $745,078,889 worldwide, the movie has obviously been wildly successful. Much of this success can be attributed to the stunning visual effects and sizable budget, reputed to be nearly half a billion dollars between production and marketing.  While I must admit the film was aesthetically impressive, the feature that struck me the most was its blatant anti-Western, anti-American bias.

The story takes place in the year 2154 on a distant moon called Pandora, where an American corporation has established a base in order to mine the moon's rare and valuable ore. Pandora's indigenous are the Na’vi, a primitive, pagan people who greet the human explorers with mistrust and hatred.

The film's plot focuses on the main character Jake Sully, a former U.S. Marine who travels to Pandora to replace his twin brother in a quasi-military operation to protect the base and the field researchers. To do so, Jake periodically becomes an avatar – a remotely controlled, human-Na’vi hybrid. Jake enters the world of the Na'vi with the original intent of negotiating terms of relocation with the indigenous, but ends up assimilating to their culture and beliefs, culminating in the eventual betrayal of his own country and people.

Throughout the movie, James Cameron’s obvious hatred of American history is portrayed. He displays Americans as evil, war-mongering imperialists who are motivated by greed and are ready and eager to commit the genocide of the native people to achieve their ultimate goal of making a profit. Predictably, all of the oppressors are white. The exception is a female, Hispanic helicopter pilot (Michelle Rodriguez) whose conscience comes around as she too turns against the American forces. The only redeemed whites are those who "go native" à la Dances with Wolves and are considered "race-traitors."

When Jake Sully completes his training to become a warrior of the Na’vi, he ritualistically sheds his culture and civilization by participating in a pagan rite dedicated to the natives' mother goddess, Eywa. His new loyalty to the natives eventually leads him to turn on his own country and people, as he coordinates an attack on the American colonists, slaughtering a great number of them. The twisted part of this movie is that Jake Sully and his band of America-hating murderers are portrayed as heroes, while the Americans are presented as evil, capitalist exploiters who attack the traditionalist, cultured tribesmen with complete disregard for their belief systems and cultural symbols.

Clearly, the film is a not-so-subtle critique of America's founding (and European colonialism in general) and the War in Iraq. Here, however, Cameron seems to contradict himself. In one of the more notable scenes, the film's chief antagonist, Colonel Miles Quaritch, leads an attack on the Na'vi's dwelling place, Hometree.  The scene is a mix between the helicopter attack in Apocalypse Now (I half expected "Ride of the Valkyries" to start playing) and the footage of the attacks from September 11.  In an interview, Cameron said he was "surprised at how much it did look like September 11." Problematic to his critique, however, Cameron portrays the Na'vi reacting to the assault by mounting an attack of their own and decimating the forces of the "terrorists."

Of course, this all fits in with the liberal narrative that non-white, indigenous peoples alone have the right and privilege to be "xenophobic" defenders of their own culture and heritage. Before Jake can become one of the Na'vi, he must learn their ways and fully assimilate into their culture.  Peoples such as the Na'vi achieve their highest purpose in defending their civilization, while whites are only redeemed by abandoning and actively fighting against their own civilization in defense of primitive, pre-industrial societies.

While I believe the critique of excessive industrialism and unfettered capitalism is somewhat valid, it need not be presented in the context of an anti-American, anti-Western plot.  Many intellectuals such as the Southern Agrarians and J.R.R. Tolkien have managed to achieve just that. Mr. Cameron, however, couldn't help but express his deep-seated hatred of the West.
