On Thursday May 4, 2009, Barack Hussein Obama gave a speech at Cairo University in Egypt. The stated purpose of the speech was to “seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world”. However, Obama’s rhetoric only emboldened the Islamist enemies of the United States of America and Israel and confirmed his administration spinelessness in the face of Islamo-Fascist evil.

His speech abounded in typical Obama niceties, implausible feel-good scenarios and other devices of rhetorical masturbation. It was, in the usual Obama style, totally devoid of specifics. But most importantly, it was devoid of an uncompromising stance against Islamist terrorism and support for the only democracy in the Middle East: Israel. Right when you thought Obama could insult the Presidency no further than when he bowed to the despot of Saudi Arabia, Hussein threw away his dignity, groveling before the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims.

Obama’s “message” to the Islamic world started with one of the greatest fallacies ever uttered before any audience in human history: “America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles — principles of justice and progress; tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.”

America and Islam are not mutually exclusive? Does Obama truly realize what he says when he asserts that the principles upon which Our Nation was built—individual liberty and responsibility of thought and conscience, independence, self-determination and self-government—are compatible with the ideology which orders its believers to kill all those who deny its supremacy and refuse to submit to its barbaric rule, a religion which seeks to take away the powers of government from the hands of the people and place them into the hands of the priests of Allah? Does Obama truly believe that our system of capitalism and democracy is not incompatible with Islam, the springboard for the world’s most notorious, cruel, ignorant, barbaric terrorists and despots? The events of 9/11 have once and for all demonstrated our inherent and irreconcilable differences with those who correctly practice the tenants of Islam. The only place where Western civilization and Islam seem to share many similarities is inside Obama’s twisted psyche.

In his speech, Obama goes on: “It was Islam — at places like Al-Azhar — that carried the light of learning through so many centuries, paving the way for Europe’s Renaissance and Enlightenment.” Really? Have the monasteries of Europe, the libraries and universities of Byzantium been suddenly replaced by an Islamic madrassa in Egypt?

“It was innovation in Muslim communities that developed the order of algebra; our magnetic compass and tools of navigation; our mastery of pens and printing; our understanding of how disease spreads and how it can be healed. Islamic culture has given us majestic arches and soaring spires; timeless poetry and cherished music; elegant calligraphy and places of peaceful contemplation.”

It seems that for Obama, the civic, military, architectural and cultural achievement of the Greeks and the Romans and other peoples of Europe, the philosophy of Aristotle, the medicine of Galen, the histories of Herodotus and Plutarch, been replaced and superseded by Islam’s elegant arches and timeless poetry. We must be shocked but not surprised. For Obama and his leftist followers, revising and fabricating human history, assigning the achievements of Western Civilization to other, lesser cultures is the only way to legitimize their sick world views.

Next, Obama states an even greater lie:
