Do we all remember when Obama dismantled our country's space program? Single handedly destroying the purpose of NASA?
Charles Bolden, the NASA administrator appointed by Obama has declared the organization that piloted robots on Mars, launched satellites into deep space, and conquered the moon will now be the “Earth improvement agency”.
The priorities Obama laid out for Bolden become progressively entropic.
"One, he [Obama] wanted me to help reinspire children to want to get into science and math.."
I guess I can sort of see the connection between NASA, relying heavily on science and math, teaching our children the finer points of the two. Fine I can accept that. Shouldn't be their top priority – or their second – or their third, but one could argue they have a dog in this fight.

You don't say? What's the State Department doing these days?

A conservative columnist said it best, “from moon landings to promoting self-esteem”. While we're busy figuring out ways to trick the world into liking us, China and India will have no problem (with technology we gave them) in spreading their civilizations across the galaxies while we're still panhandling to the lowest common denominators.
NASA's goal should be building giant moon bases, sending astronauts to Mars, and perhaps building a giant death ray to protect us from insectoid alien invaders. The West should be expanding our Faustian Will for God's sake. Not impeding it with hugs and self-help seminars.
Our forefathers would weep. This society is a sick joke.
